In the age of technology, we spend more time than ever on our phone and laptops. So,what better way to stop the kids constantly clicking on phones and having their heads buried in their laptops than a camping or touring weekend away? After asking for the latest techno upgrades for Christmas, you may not have had the family time you were counting on as these digital devices act as the ultimate distraction.
Here at Holgates Holiday Parks, we can provide the perfect setting for a digi-free few days away with our tent and touring-pitching areas located in Silverdale, Bay View and Hollins Farm. In fact, Bay View actually has some non-electric pitches if you really want to get some family bonding in.
But all the sites are equipped with the essentials, so hot showers, washing facilities and a pot wash area are all provided to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible.
The two adventure playgrounds at Silverdale will be sure to keep younger family members occupied, whereas the older members of your party might appreciate a relaxing afternoon in the Sauna, a dip in the pool or a scenic walk along the coast of Morecambe Bay.
The three parks are situated closely to each other, but each has their own charms. Bay View boasts views of rolling hills and countryside which is particularly striking when the sun sets. From Hollins Farm you can view the impressive mountains of the Lake District which you can gaze across at with your campsite companions – the goats and chickens which wander about the grounds.
Whether you want to escape the city skyline and the hustle and bustle of home, or you want to savour some much needed family time, a camping holiday is a great way to make memories with your children.
Putting down the iPad and perking up to the benefits of the outdoors may be a daunting prospect, but soon you’ll see how time flies when enjoying the great outdoors and camping out under the stars.
