Holgates Holiday Homes in Lancashire
Owning a holiday home is one thing, yet owning a holiday home in Lancashire opens up a world of fantastic activities and opportunities, perfect for all of the family to enjoy.
Deciding which one of our luxurious sites is the difficult part! With parks situated across six stunning areas, including Silverdale, Netherbeck and Bay View, each site has its own selection of brilliant local attractions.
The Perks of Lancashire
So what exactly is it that makes Lancashire so great? With an estimated 6.3 million visitors annually by 2020, we thought that we would pull together some brilliant reasons to why Lancashire is the ideal location for you to purchase your dream holiday home.
1. The remarkable landscapes, particularly in summer
One of the largest counties in the country, Lancashire is home to a wealth of stunning natural landscapes. So much so, that Lancashire Life even ran a feature on the top 10 most breathtaking areas of natural beauty. The Silverdale coast was included, which is within walking distance of three of our parks.
Another notable point of interest includes Jubilee Tower, which sits atop Darwen Hill and boasts panoramic views reaching Yorkshire, the Isle of Man and even Blackpool Tower.
2. The activities available
The local area is home to an assortment of activities, perfectly suited for all of the family to enjoy.
Close to the Bay View site is Morecambe Bay, which is world-famous for its potted shrimps. Take a day ambling along with the 4 and a half-mile long promenade, with views that stretch over to Barrow-in-Furness and Grange-over-Sands. Alternatively, take a canal tour in Lancaster, not forgetting to stop by the impressive castle in the popular city centre.
Closer to our Silverdale site is Leighton Moss, a nature reserve that is run by the RSPB and is home to special birds such as bitterns and various other wildlife.
3. And when the rain pours…
Although we can promise great fun, unfortunately, we cannot promise great weather. In the North-West, due to the exposure of the westerly maritime air and the presence of areas of particularly high ground, in the run up to summer, we expect wet weather.
However, with vibrant local shopping areas such as Lancaster and Preston city centres, there is always something to do.
In addition, our Silverdale parks are situated close to the south of the Lake District, which has recently been awarded the UNESCO world heritage status. This status means that tourism in the area is in the process of receiving a complete rejuvenation, with various tremendous days out easy to access.
After the excitement of a full day exploring all that Lancashire has to offer, ensure that you can return to your luxury holiday home here at Holgates.
