The Royal Cottages and the Royal Silverdale are the latest additions in the local area to receive the ‘Holgates touch’, developing them into high quality holiday and recreational facilities.
The Royal public house stood empty from 2010 before being purchased and revitalised by the Holgates Group in 2014, intending to provide a superior standard of holiday accommodation and hospitality in the North Lancashire Village of Silverdale. The careful planning and thoughtful redesign made way for a spectacular refurbishment creating a public house, two holiday cottages and two long term let cottages. All of which, we believe, provides quality facilities, combined with service that delights.
The cottages, beautifully decorated to create a space of relaxation and tranquillity for all that stay are available to hire for a short break or a weeklong stay, including use of the leisure facilities at Holgates Silverdale. Each cottage is named after a focal point in the local area: The Knott and the Pepper Pot, making them the perfect base to start exploring this area of outstanding natural beauty and to discover great places to form lasting memories of this wonderful area.
The Knott is the larger of the two cottages and sleeps up to six people. It is made up of one spacious king-sized master bedroom, one double bedroom and one twin. Luxury towels and bedding is provided for each person staying in the cottage and there is a hairdryer located in each master bedroom, so no need to worry about bringing one along with you if you are staying with us – we know the weather can be unpredictable! The Knott is a spacious holiday cottage and the perfect place for a family getaway in the heart of Silverdale, especially if camping and caravanning isn’t your cup of tea. The kitchen in the Knott is equipped with a dishwasher, large dining table, washer-dryer, fridge-freezer and a large fully equipped kitchen. The master bathroom contains a shower as well as a bath, which we think is an essential item for a holiday cottage designed for relaxation. There is an en-suite in the double room as well as a downstairs toilet.
The Knott has a large living area, complete with log burning stove, a variety of comfortable leather furniture and a DVD player which makes this the perfect place for a family get together surrounding the warm fire in winter. In the summer months, what could be more enjoyable than making the most of those warm evenings by sitting outside on the stylish garden furniture while enjoying the spectacular sunsets over Silverdale.
The Pepper Pot is the smaller of the two cottages and sleeps up to four people. This quaint cottage has a kitchen full of cooking utensils, a dining table for four and has a washer-dryer installed for convenience. The cosy living room is equipped with leather sofas, DVD player and log burning fire. There is one double master bedroom and one twin room. The master bathroom in the Pepper Pot has a bath with overhead shower.
The Pepper Pot’s lovely outside garden has a four piece outdoor dining table with Parasol; the perfect place for enjoying those long summer evenings with peace and quiet, great company and perhaps a glass or two of wine!
The Cottages are in close proximity to the Royal Silverdale. So, if cooking in your holiday cottage isn’t for you then there is a delightful menu prepared from locally sourced ingredients literally on your doorstep.
The pub itself, just like the cottages, has been tastefully furnished to create a rustic and traditional country pub at the heart of this coastal village. Open daily for Breakfast, Lunch and Evening Meals. The Royal serves an assortment of cask ales from the best breweries around.
