Although Christmas has just passed us by, there’s no better time than the present to get planning your holidays for next year.
With many people feeling the pinch, some are turning to booking a luxury static caravan as their holiday accommodation rather than the more expensive hotel alternative. But what would you need to know about a static caravan holiday before booking it?
Tips for the perfect Caravan Holiday at Holgates
Luckily for you, we’re luxury caravan experts here at Holgates. Here are our 4 top tips for the perfect caravan holiday and how to make the most of a stay in one of our luxury holiday caravans next year!
Check the Facilities Available Before You Arrive
Depending on the site that you book your caravan into, the facilities that are available to you onsite will vary.
To avoid disappointment, be sure to check what facilities you will have available at your caravan before you set off. The Holgates luxury static caravans have cooking facilities such as ovens, grills and microwaves as well as shower facilities and living areas with TVs and heating.
Find An Area That Interests You
If you are looking to get away for a bit on holiday, chances are you won’t want to be sat in your caravan all the time. Your caravan should act as your base- somewhere that you start and end your day at after exploring the surrounding areas throughout the day.
This is why it is important to find an area that has attractions or places that will interest you. For example, our caravans are within travelling distance of the beautiful landscape of the Lake District, which is perfect for photographers, hikers and families alike.
Be sure to research the area as well as the site that you will be staying on- you never know what exciting attractions or events you may come across!
Pack Light
Even though luxury caravans aren’t short on space, you won’t have enough room to bring your entire wardrobe with you. Pack as light and as relevantly as possible to save on space in your caravan. Do you really need to pack that three piece suit “just in case”?
Packing light also reduces the amount of washing that you will have to do when you get home. Try to re-use as many of your outfits as possible before they need washing. We also recommend bringing some large, thin towels with you for showering purposes. These will dry much faster than thicker towels, giving you access to dry towels every day without the need for tumble drying!
Bring Simple Food Supplies
As you will have access to cooking facilities and equipment, it may be tempting to bring mountains of food along with you to your caravan holiday.
Although cooking your own food will definitely save you money while you are on holiday, it will be pretty difficult to cook a full four course Sunday dinner in your luxury caravan as you won’t have as much preparation and cooking space as you would at home. Don’t worry, though- you can still cook some delicious meals in your luxury caravan!
Stick to simple, easy to make food while you are in your caravan. This way, you can spend more time focused on enjoying your holiday than worrying about the food that you’ve left on to cook all day.
Luxury caravan holidays are incredibly enjoyable for the whole family, no matter what age you are! There’s nothing better than coming back after a day exploring a new area –or even a familiar one that you can’t get enough of- and relaxing in an attractive, cosy caravan.
