Grab those cowboy boots, dig out your checked shirt our Charity Ceilidh Weekend is back… taking place on the 23rd, 24th, and 25th of June! This exciting weekend event is set to be an incredible time for all, with a variety of fun-filled activities and events on offer. We’re thrilled to be hosting this event in support of two incredibly important causes: raising funds for Pancreatic Cancer research and supporting St John’s Hospice.

The first Ceilidh weekend since 2019, we’re hoping to make the weekend bigger and better than ever kicking off with a beer festival and live music on the Friday evening, where you’ll have the chance to sample some of the finest brews around and enjoy live entertainment from the Panda Cups band! This is a perfect way to start your weekend in style. Grab a bite to eat in our restaurant from our brand-new menu, then make your way up to the marquee from 7pm.

On Saturday, we’re hosting a family fun day 12pm – 3pm that promises to be a fantastic day for all ages! There will be a sports day, with a range of activities to choose from. Kids will love the bouncy castle, and the whole family can take a tractor ride around the grounds, taking in the beautiful scenery while you enjoy a relaxing break. The day is free to visit with no tickets needed, but we’re hoping you dig deep with donations to take part in various activities!

As the day comes to an end, it’s time to get your dancing shoes on for our main fundraiser event. Our Ceilidh is a traditional dance with a live ceilidh band. This is the perfect opportunity to let your hair down and have some fun, while also supporting two incredibly important causes. Enjoy a hot meal (included in the ticket price) before heading to the dance floor, this is a ticketed event with limited spaces, be sure to purchase in advance! The dance is set to be a highlight of the weekend, and we can’t wait to see you all on the dance floor! Charity Ceilidh tickets on sale now from our reception team on 01524 701508.

Sunday 25th June brings our market day new for 2023, giving you the chance to browse and buy some fantastic products available from local stallholders. With a range of goods on offer, from handmade crafts and jewellery to homemade baked goods and something for the pooch, there’s sure to be something that will catch your eye. Free to visit, open from 11 – 3pm.

We’re thrilled to be hosting this fantastic weekend of events in support of our chosen charities and we hope you’ll join us for what promises to be an incredible weekend. Your support and contributions will make a real difference to these two important causes, so come along and have some fun while also making a difference. See you there!

What is a Ceilidh?

A ceilidh (pronounced kay-lee) is a traditional Gaelic social gathering that involves music and dancing. It originated in Ireland and Scotland and is still popular today in both countries, as well as in other parts of the world where Celtic culture is celebrated.

At a ceilidh, people come together to socialize and participate in traditional dances like the jig, reel, and waltz. The music is usually played by live musicians using traditional instruments like the fiddle, accordion, and bodhran.

Our chosen charities

Pancreatic Cancer UK is a charity very close to our hearts, being our principal charity since 2015 we are honoured to have raised £18,466 so far and look forward to increasing the grand total during our fundraiser weekend.

St John’s Hospice is a local charity which provides free palliative care to patients with life shortening conditions. Their services cover a population area of 250,000 people in North Lancashire, South Lakes and parts of North Yorkshire. They have been caring for our community every minute of every day since 1986. We are very proud to be raising funds for this local charity, be sure to say hello to one of their representatives over the weekend!
