We all know that weather in the UK isn’t as we would like it to be sometimes but, come rain or shine, us Brits love a trip away.
Whether we have to get the wellies on and embrace the rainy day or we have to get the factor 50 out of the bag, the UK hosts some of the most beautiful places in the world and we simply can’t miss out on them, whatever the weather may be!
One of the wonderful things about holiday parks is that there is a lengthy list of things to get up to whether the sun has got his hat on or the raindrops keep falling.
Want to know what you can get up to with the family at our holiday parks in all types of wonderful or worrying weather?
Spring
Spring is the perfect time to grab the family for a trip away to a holiday park in the Lake District; but why is this? Not only does the weather begin to get better, but there are all kinds of wonderful sights to indulge in. From the bursting bloom of golden daffodils and swathes of bluebells, the spring landscapes have plenty to offer to make this season the ideal time to get to a Lake District holiday park.
When the weather isn’t looking too great to get out and about, our parks have many alternative options and facilities you can take advantage of.
Our Silverdale park has a 17m heated swimming pool, complete with a bubble pool, a relaxing sauna, steam room, toddlers’ pool and even some classes you can take part in. Plenty to get everyone involved.
This park not only lets you go for a dip, but we also have a superb bowling alley and gym and, when you get hungry, our bar, café and restaurant is waiting to serve you up some well-deserved grub, as well as some fabulous entertainment. An example are kid’s discos and plenty of other events like quiz and wine nights.
Summer
When the weather is on its best behaviour, we have plenty of superb scenery and walks surrounding our parks, such as Netherbeck, Far Arnside, Silver Ridge, Hollins Farm and Bay View. All our parks are set in idyllic countryside settings with the perfect contrast of secluded peace and easy access to facilities. Our Hollins Farm and Bay View parks are nestled in lush rolling fields not short of views, perfect for a summer getaway with the family.
Our Far Arnside park is said to be the best of both worlds, being the perfect escape for peace and tranquillity and, with summer making for some stunning sunsets and weather, we can’t think of anywhere better to escape to.
With plenty of events happening all through the summer and highs of 19 degrees Celsius, you won’t be stuck for things to do. Be sure to check out local festivals such as Lakes Alive and Kendal Calling.
Autumn
With summer over, crowds begin to thin and disperse a little, so you’ll be able to enjoy the array of autumn colours that bursts onto the scene in and around the Lake District even better. This rainbow of colours makes this season one of the most beautiful times of year to visit one of our parks.
The fantastic foliage makes for a picture-perfect walk out with the family and the dog; however, when you feel like getting cosy inside for a chilly evening, why not stay in your holiday home, get the board games out and have a relaxing night in? Autumn is also the perfect opportunity to get involved in our annual bonfire and fireworks at Bay View, as well as our fabulous Halloween discos. Keep an eye out for news nearer the time! Its one not to miss!
Winter
While some may think that winter is not the best time to visit one of our parks, we would disagree! With the selection of fabulous facilities, regular events and our easy access to nearby towns and villages, winter doesn’t stop the enjoyment.
The crisp air and snow-capped hills of the Lake District make for some of the most picturesque views of all time and, with some low laying fells, the views are truly spectacular. Don’t be afraid to venture out and see some of the most stunning sights of a lifetime. Be sure to take the camera, a scarf, gloves and a woolly hat!
