Thursday 9th to Sunday 12th June
If you love horses, you will love the Appleby Fair. It is unique in Europe, and you can enjoy an informal event with a lively atmosphere. Here you will be able to browse the stalls and watch horses being washed in the river and races down the street. Sunday is the main visitors’ day, but please note the fair is not an organised event and visitors attend at their own risk.
Friday 8th to Sunday 10th July
At 28 bars and cafes around Morecambe, there is a huge variety of music, including Blues, cover acts, acoustic music and choirs. The festival continues to grow every year and brings over 20,000 people to visit the pubs in the town. The official lineup of the acts will be released later this month, so do keep an eye out via the weblink above for further updates.

Calling all you super heroes to join in the fun at Happy Mount Park. If you’ve always wanted to be a superhero for a day, then this is your chance! There’ll be a fancy dress competition with a chance of winning lots of prizes. Not only that but you can expect a magic show, a treasure hunt and an art workshop for all of the crafters out there and so much more!
Wednesday 3rd August
In the stunning village of Cartmel, there is an agricultural show that has plenty for all the family. There will be plenty to eat and drink, and you will be able to buy local cheeses, meats and pies, locally produced gins, and hand-made chocolates and cakes. For the young and the young-at-heart, there are many things to try, from archery to circus skills. You will also be able to browse many stalls, selling clothing and handmade gifts from local craftspeople. The highlight of the show is the ‘Mounted Fancy Dress’, where local ponies and their riders wear creative and colourful costumes to win first prize.

Carnforth Station Heritage Centre
Visit the fascinating Carnforth Station Heritage Centre that has free admission and enjoy the model trains, as well as the full-sized variety! There is also a wonderful memorabilia museum and a micro-pub.

Morcambe
Vintage festivals are a nostalgic delight, whether you are into disco, soul, or rockabilly. This festival celebrates music, fashion and dance from the 1920s to the 1980s.

Hall and Gardens
Set on the magnificent grounds of Holker Hall, this fun-packed event will be full of family-friendly entertainment and stalls selling handcrafted gifts. There will be a chilli eating competition at the end of the day, and tickets for the festival include parking and entry into the gardens and the hall.
