Holgates Family Set to Open New Pub in Silverdale

Holgates invest £300,000 in bringing back to life The Royal in Silverdale. Opening early Spring 2016!

Morecambe Bay is an important tourist destination; the area attracts a wide variety of visitors, walkers, cyclists, families and couples. Many of whom visit as they want to explore the coastal headlands, sands, woods, rivers, wetlands, grasslands and area’s rich wildlife.

To encourage these visitors to keep coming back it’s hugely important that we provide them with a quality visitor experience during their stay. With that in mind, Holgate’s have been busy bringing the former Royal Hotel, Silverdale, back into use.

The local family run business has invested over £300,000 refurbishing the building both inside and out, improving the look and feel of this important focal point in the middle of the village.

The internal layout has been completely redesigned to make the layout friendlier, more inviting, stylish and comfortable as a place for people to eat and drink. The exterior will also be greatly improved with extensive and sympathetic landscaping.

When the newly refurbished Royal is set to open in early spring 2016. It will serve a full range of local ales, light refreshments and a range of snacks, all produced using fresh locally sourced ingredients.

As a large-scale employer in the area, Holgate’s take real pride in promoting this fantastic destination to visitors. It’s important that these visitors enjoy their stay, especially as they help to provide employment locally and bring money into the local economy, which in turn supports a huge variety of local businesses, including visitor attractions, galleries, shops, and food producers to name a few.

By taking the decision to invest a significant amount of money in The Royal, Holgate’s is helping to create sustainable jobs for local people, initially four full time and up to six part-time roles, which may well increase in number during the visitor 2016 visitor season. We are also providing additional quality visitor facilities and are also helping to improve the look and feel of the village by renovating and improving this very visible area in its heart.’’
