Golf Clubs in Lancashire
A weekend away playing a few rounds of golf is a wonderful way to enjoy time with your friends and frustrate yourself with your approach play. Lancashire is home to miles of green space making it ideal for golf courses. Silverdale and Arnside provide a great base from which to start your day with breakfast at a cosy cafe before heading out for a round at Silverdale Golf Club, Morecambe Golf Club, Whalley Golf Club or Grange Fell Golf Club and Grange-Over-Sands Golf Club across the bay.
When you’re not playing a round you can relax and unwind at one of our fantastic holiday parks and enjoy the amazing amenities we have on offer including steam rooms and swimming pools. Our holiday sites also have easy access to walks and trails for that perfect holiday snap.
Discovering the Wild Side of Lancashire
If you’re looking for something that’ll get your heart pumping we have just the activity for you; bouldering. Bouldering has become a hugely popular pastime for many as it allows you to enjoy climbing and take it outside where the climb often leads to breathtaking views. Sites like Castleberg Rock in the Yorkshire Dales National Park is within driving distance along with the Forest of Bowland AONB. Bowland AONB is home to two bouldering sites, Thorn Crag and Craig Y Longridge. These sites are perfect for group trips and days out. When you’re done climbing and your hands need a rest then you can take it easy at a Holgates Holiday Park or take a drive into Silverdale to enjoy a well-earned meal and pint at The Royal.
Along with bouldering, you can also get closer to wildlife. The Bowland Wild Boar Park is a hit with families. This rural wildlife park has it all. Animal feedings, tractor rides, play areas, riverside walks, and even a cafe to take a break from all the activities. Visiting the Wild Boar Park while exploring Bowland is a great way to get closer to nature and discover how wildlife have made our isle their home for centuries.
Explore Woods, Hills, and Dales
Of course, what outdoor holiday destination is complete without some fantastic hikes and walks? The Spring Wood Walk in Whalley is a great example of what this area has to offer. This walk is easy, making it perfect for all ages, and is only 2 miles long. The starting point near the town centre takes you through the ancient woodland which is home to more than twenty different tree species, wildflowers, ponds, and carpets of bluebells. This site also has parking available and picnicking facilities for a lunch out in the woods. If you’re feeling adventurous you can add to your walk and take in the countryside at Wiswell or explore the village of Whalley and its magical Abbey.
