In fact, Silverdale is a great location for families as it is ideally placed with a number of fun days out located nearby. If you’re looking for something to do with the whole family in the local area, take a look at our selection of some of the best things to do near Silverdale.

Happy Mount Park

Located in the coastal town of Morecambe, Happy Mount Park offers hours of entertainment, particularly in the summer when the weather is warm. With a number of play areas for a range of ages, adventure golf, miniature train rides, and even a splash park, this is something of a wonderland for the kids. The park is best enjoyed on a warm, sunny day, but make sure to get there early to beat the crowds.

Lakeland Wildlife Oasis

This little zoo will certainly prove popular with the kids as you can visit a huge range of animals, from meerkats to snow leopards. With talks from the animal keepers throughout the day, you can be sure that your little ones will learn something alongside the fun and excitement of a day at the zoo.

Greenlands Farm Village

There’s plenty to do at Greenlands Farm Village with animals such as pygmy goats, Kune-Kune pigs, reptiles and donkeys. As well as all the animals that you can meet, there are a number of activities to keep the children entertained, and even a few shops to keep the grownups happy as well!

Soul Bowl

On Morecambe’s Promenade, you can find Soul Bowl, a bowling alley with a stylish feel. The restaurant has a fantastic view over the Bay as well as an extensive menu packed full of delicious treats. Enjoy a game on the lanes before heading downstairs and trying your luck in the arcades where you can trade in tickets for prizes.

Lancaster Castle

The city of Lancaster has been home to a castle since the time of the Romans, so if you head into the city to visit the historic landmark, you’re sure to learn plenty. You can take tours of the castle where you will learn about its connections to everyone from the Pendle witches to Queen Elizabeth II herself. The history really is fascinating so this is a great way of getting the kids to learn a little while keeping them entertained.

When you visit Silverdale and the surrounding areas, you’ll have no shortage of exciting things to do with the family.
