We are proud and honoured to be celebrating a clean sweep of 5-star AA assessments across all of our holiday parks in North Lancashire and Cumbria; a great achievement for everyone at Holgates!
If all of our holiday parks in North Lancashire and Cumbria being awarded 5 stars wasn’t enough, our flagship park, Holgates Silverdale has also awarded the 5-Pennant Platinum rating – the highest possible AA award for caravan and camping sites in the UK – and the only holiday park in Lancashire to hold the sought-after accolade.
With less than 30 holiday parks across the country currently have 5-Pennant Platinum status, and only three parks in the North of England, the new elite title is one we are immensely proud of. Awarded to 5-star parks with a quality score of 95% and above, therefore highlighting the parks that demonstrate exceptionally high standards.
Holgates Bay View Holiday Park in Bolton-le-Sands on the Lancashire coast received 5-stars for the first time ensuring all Holgates parks are at the top of their game for quality. Bay View has undergone recent investment with a new development of holiday homes overlooking Morecambe Bay, and has opened a new dog-friendly bar to cater for the growing number of owners and holidaymakers taking their faithful friends away with them. The AA inspector said about Bay View: “It is always a joy to visit this constantly improving holiday destination.”
On awarding the Platinum Award to Silverdale, the AA inspector said: “Silverdale continues to achieve a Five Pennant rating with a justifiably Platinum Award. As usual the landscaping is always a labour of love for the hard-working maintenance team, with an excellent overall presentation.”
He also noted the ‘impressive stainless-steel pagoda with bench seat’, which was built as a memorial to former owner, Frank Holgate. He said: “I am sure he would be very proud of the way his legacy has progressed with ever increasing quality and facilities to enhance the customer experience.”
