There are plenty of spooky locations across the Ribble Valley, with centuries of history and some unusual ghost stories! Visit the Sun Inn in Chipping which is said to be haunted by beautiful maid Lizzie Dean. Or The De Lacy Arms in Whalley which is said to be haunted by a white-robed monk! Bonfire night in the Ribble Valley

There are plenty of local fireworks displays in the Ribble Valley, such as the Gisburne Park Estate’s famous Bonfire Night Spectacular with traditional Lancashire Hotpot Supper. Head to the World Fireworks Championship in Blackpool for one of the most impressive fireworks displays in the country on 25th September 2021. The town of Clitheroe also has some incredible bonfire night events. It features the stunning castle providing the perfect backdrop for fireworks!

Cultural events for the whole family

Lancashire has a long history of the arts, and this autumn there are some incredible cultural events to enjoy. The award-winning Lancaster Music Festival is running from the 14th to the 17th of October and this annual event is completely free! Visit the British Textile Biennial 2021 and appreciate some of the country’s most talented textile artists with a range of exhibitions. If you love bright lights, Blackpool Pleasure Beach is only a short drive, and their spectacular Illuminations have been wowing visitors for decades! With over 10km of lights, the world-famous Blackpool Illuminations are a must-see during the Autumn, with plenty of attractions, amusements, restaurants and cafes.
