La Locanda
For those who love Italian cuisine, you can’t get much better than La Locanda. The restaurant itself is rustic and cosy, and gives you a truly authentic Italian experience, especially with owners Maurizio and Cinzia at the helm for over 15 years!
You can expect a wide range of Italian dishes cooked fresh to order with the best local produce. It doesn’t matter if you’re veggie or vegan – they have dishes for everyone!
For those with a more adventurous palate, there are some incredibly delicious dishes on the menu which aren’t usually seen anywhere else. Dishes such as Coniglio Ripieno con Patate al Timo which is Gisburn Forest wild rabbit filled with Taleggio D.O.P. cheese and spinach, wrapped with pancetta served with own juice and thyme potatoes definitely intrigues us!
However, if you’re just looking for delicious, homely Italian dishes, there are plenty of delicious pasta dishes and salads, too! It’s also child-friendly, although there is no dedicated children’s menu – all main meals can be cooked to smaller portions if required!

Delicious Deli & Cafe
If you’re looking for a quaint little cafe that hits all the right spots, we definitely recommend stopping in at Delicious Deli & Cafe.
Their breakfasts definitely live up to the cafe’s name and all portions are incredibly generous for the price you pay. Whether you fancy a bacon bap, full English, or even just a humble fruit scone, you’re spoilt for choice in a morning!
Lunchtime is no different, with a wide range of meals available, from homemade soups and cakes to packed paninis and more. Even if you just fancy popping in for a coffee, you’ll find it hard not to be tempted by something on their menu.
Hearty food at a good price, and with daily specials on offer, there’s always something new – be sure to stop in if you’re in the area and feeling a little peckish!

The White Bull
If pub grub is what your tastebuds are tingling for, take a trip to the White Bull situated on Main Street in Gisburn. You’ll be met with a warm, comforting atmosphere that’s expected of a local pub up here in the North.
With pub classics and favourite dishes with a twist, there’s plenty of food and drink to choose from. It is quite a popular spot, so if you’re visiting of an evening over summer or on a weekend, be prepared to wait for a table – but it’s definitely well worth the wait.
From roast dinners to colourful vegetarian options, small plates and delicious deserts, the White Bull is a great all-rounder, no matter what time of day you nip in to visit.
The bar is also well-stocked with a variety of beers, ciders, wines and spirits, so if a tipple is what you’re looking for, head on down to the White Bull and enjoy the relaxing, laid back atmosphere.

Prime at Stirk House
Want to go somewhere where you can get a good steak or incredible homemade meal, Prime is definitely worth a look in.
With a grand setting, you can expect the food that you are served to be of the highest quality, too. Set in Stirk House which is overlooked by Pendle Hill, you’re situated in one of the most striking areas of the North West – and you’re about to indulge in some seriously good food.
From burgers to steaks, starters to nibbles and decadent desserts, there’s something for everyone. All cooked with delicious local produce, you’re getting a real taste of Gisburn and the surrounding area, while enjoying the local atmosphere and surroundings, too.
Breakfast, Lunch and Evening meals are served at Prime, so there are plenty of opportunities to try out some of the incredible food on offer.

Another country pub favourite of ours which is a little further out than Gisburn is the Buck Country Pub – a comfortable, traditionally furnished put with your comfort in mind while serving you some of the UK’s favourite dishes to further enhance your relaxation.
All food is made fresh and you can definitely taste it! Its home-away-from-home atmosphere really adds to the whole dining experience, and the portion sizes are incredibly – reminiscent of proper pub meals of the past!
Whether you just want a light bite or a proper, hearty meal, there’s something on the menu for everyone – including vegetarian options. They have roast dinners one a Sunday which are incredible, often with some offers to be snapped up such as free starters and 50% off the menu.
