Visit The RSPB Leighton Moss Nature Reserve

For a peaceful stroll, or even a walk with the kids, make sure you check out The RSPB Leighton Moss Nature Reserve. Located just seven miles from Silverdale, this reserve is known for its wildlife and views of Morecambe Bay. There are also plenty of guided walks available if you’d like to learn more about the local area and its wildlife.

Home to a wide range of wonderful creatures, including birds (such as native kingfishers), bugs, otters and even red deer, the Leighton Moss Nature Reserve is a great way to explore the beautiful landscape.

After your walk, enjoy a hearty, local meal in the reserve’s award-winning cafe, before heading back to your comfortable lake district holiday park.

 

Lake Windermere Lake Cruise

Of course, with so much going on in the immediate local area, you’d be forgiven for forgetting about one of the most beautiful areas of the UK. Lake Windermere is a popular tourist destination, and a must-visit spot for any family looking for something to do over the half-term.


Take a cruise on the lake, and explore its incredible views, lush landscapes and iconic landmarks. The cruise will also take you past Ambleside and Bowness-on-Windermere, two bustling towns which offer plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants.

Stargazing At Warton Crag

Just a short-drive south of Silverdale, you’ll find the stunning scenery of Warton Crag Nature Reserve. This local nature reserve offers beautiful views during the day, but its at night when it really comes alive.

 

Free from light pollution and boasting some of the clearest night skies in Lancashire, Warton Crag is a great spot for stargazing. So, whether you’ve got your own telescope, or you’d just like to admire the stars with your own eyes on a crisp winter night, make sure you check out Warton Crag Nature Reserve.

Enjoy The Breathtaking Views at Jenny Brown's Point

Jenny Brown’s Point is one of the most beautiful areas in Silverdale. With stunning views across Morecambe Bay, plenty of benches and an easy, safe footpath, its one of the most popular spots for dog walkers and families alike. While you’re there, why not take the time to appreciate the nearby Jack Scout and Giant’s Seat, a beautiful vista with a relaxing stroll straight from Silverdale village itself?

The nearby Greenlands Farm Village, just a short drive away in Carnforth, is the perfect spot for a family day out.
