How Much Deposit Do I Need To Buy A Holiday Home?
If you decide that a finance option may work for you to spread the cost over monthly repayments, you may still require an initial deposit to put towards a holiday home. Our friendly team are happy to discuss our finance options from Blackhorse and Santander, which would require a deposit at 20% of the caravan price. Finance options are subject to availability and approval, so if you’d like more information please get in touch!
You may also decide that your own finance arrangement will be better suited to your needs, if you wish to explore unsecured repayment options externally to us, such as a personal loan, you may do so.
Can I Buy A Holiday Home to Live In?
No, you can’t live in a holiday home at Holgates. As our holiday homes, lodges and static caravans aren’t permanent residences and are purely for recreational use throughout the year.You need to have a permanent address elsewhere to purchase a holiday home at one of Holgates’ holiday parks.
However, you are able to stay at the home for extended periods of time (a few weeks in the Summer for example), giving you the freedom and flexibility to enjoy a holiday home, and the surrounding area, to your heart’s content.
Do I Need To Pay Council Tax On A Holgates’ Holiday Home?
As a Holgates’ holiday home isn’t a permanent residence, you won’t be required to pay council tax but you will have to pay local rates which covers water, waste and refuse collection. As part of our park rules and site licence you are required to provide proof of your home council tax bill to prove you live elsewhere. .
