Lifeguard and Leisure Club Attendant

Ensure the safety of guests using the leisure club, providing first aid cover and maintaining the exceptionally high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the leisure club.

Applicants must be able to work during weekends, early mornings and evenings.

Main Duties

  • Supervise the security and safety of the public, ensuring their enjoyment in all areas of the leisure facilities,
  • Assist the Leisure Club Manager in the preparation of activities,
  • Maintain a professional manner, ensuring that a high quality of service is provided to leisure club users,
  • Provide a safe and secure environment for all guests whilst using our leisure facilities, assisting guests in difficulty - You will spend your time on the side of one of our 2 swimming pools and in our state-of-the-art gym, making sure that users stay safe by following our leisure club rules. On a very rare occasion, assist swimmers in difficulty, or even perform lifesaving first aid.
  • Provide first aid cover to all park users.
  • Responsible for regular testing of the water quality in the pool and Spa.
  • Ensure the leisure club is presented and managed to the highest level at all times - maintaining the exceptionally high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the leisure club. Thoroughly cleaning the facilities of the leisure club at the end of a day.
  • Assist in maintenance and the weekly, as well as monthly cleaning regime of the leisure club.
  • To be guest focused & provide an outstanding service to all our guests.


  • Pool Lifeguard Qualification is desirable but not essential as full training is given
  • Knowledge of CPR
  • Knowledge of emergency medical procedures
  • Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork
  • Ability to communicate clearly,
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Focus and concentration are key to this role. You must be able to remain undistracted and concentrate on the important task of ensuring the safety of our guests at all times.
  • Customer service skills are paramount. Candidates must be friendly yet authoritative. A friendly face but a firm manor is required to ensure these rules are followed
  • You must be presentable, reliable and punctual.
  • Flexibility is also very important; you will mostly be working within the leisure club but will be required from time to time to assist in other departments as the business needs.
  • A willingness to learn is required as there will be continual, on the job learning, with regular training sessions to keep qualifications up to date.
