Job Title: Chef (Accommodation available for the right candidate)

Main Purpose of Job: To assist our head chefs in the smooth running of our busy Kitchen

Responsible to: Head Chefs

Hours: 40hours

Location: Based at Holgates Silverdale, with occasional cover shifts at our 2 other kitchens locally.

Rate: £13p/h, overtime is paid. Mostly straight shifts. Accommodation available, wage will be adjusted to reflect if required.

Main Responsibilities

Job Overview: Preparing high quality dishes in a busy kitchen with a large team.  You should be able to cook at a high standard, under pressure and work as part of a busy and productive team.

Main Tasks of Job Include:

  • Preparing food for service
  • Setting up kitchen in preparation for service
  • Helping and delegating jobs to kitchen porters
  • Stock rotation
  • Implementation and adherence to all health and safety and food hygiene practices
  • Daily cleaning tasks
  • Cook food in timely manner and with good presentation

Key Requirements


  • Proven work experience as a Chef or Cook
  • Hands on experience with various kitchen equipment
  • Advance knowledge of culinary techniques.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Work as part of the lager Kitchen and Food and Beverage team
  • Excellent time management


  • Level 3 in Professional Cookery is desirable but not essential rather proven experience in kitchen environment required.
