Class 1 HGV Driver

Job Overview:

Holgates Holiday Parks has a number of sites around the north west. The Class 1 HGV Driver role is to collect and deliver static caravans and lodges from the manufacturers, predominantly based in Hull, to the parks. The role also requires movement of static caravans and machinery between the sites.

When there are no planned transport movements, the other part of the role is to assist the grounds and maintenance teams on the parks with general grounds upkeep and maintenance.

Main tasks of Job Include:

Adhering to all road safety rules and driving licence requirements to safely load and unload, secure and drive a low loading articulated HGV. This will often be with a wide load.

You will adhere to all driving time regulations and tachograph rules.

Communication with the Transport Manager and Assistant to plan transport movements.

Communication with manufacturers to make sure the correct caravans are collected at the correct times.

Communication with the escort team to allow them to be in place at the right time to escort wide loads where necessary.

Ensuring vehicles are mechanically sound and legally roadworthy.

Updating vehicle log books, recording deliveries and tracking mileage

Complying with all MOT and in-house regulations and rules

Reporting of all incidents while on the road or loading and unloading.

Assisting grounds team in placement of Static Caravans on plots where required.

Assisting the grounds and maintenance team with general grounds duties such as mowing and strimming grass, hedge cutting, leaf collection.

Assisting the maintenance team with decking, patio laying and general plot maintenance.
