Family Weekend Trip

January is officially in full swing. Has the reality of this and going back to routines left you already in need of a break? There is no better time to begin thinking about your next family holiday; especially with the fact that February half term is just around the corner.

For families and friendship groups alike, the February half term offers the ideal opportunity to get away for a few days, kick back and relax. So, you need the perfect break, which includes both relaxing parts as well as a whole lot of fun - Holgates could be your answer.

February half term runs from the 12th all the way to the 19th, giving you plenty of time to indulge in all the treats Holgates and the surrounding areas have to offer. Even better, just over a month after that is Easter break for an entire week! Time is certainly no excuse for not visiting us at our beautiful park. So, if you are thinking of a February break, why should you choose to spend it with us?

Views of a Lifetime

No matter what park you choose to stay at, they are all set amongst some of Cumbria and Lancashire’s most scenic countryside. The landscape is some of the most breath-taking in the area. While it may seem so simple to venture out on a walk or hike, it is this time spent as a family which is the most valuable. You could even opt for a family bike ride if you want to get adventurous!

Quality time, stunning views and if you’re lucky you may even spot some of the Holgates wildlife. This is priceless.

The Jack Scout and the Pepperpot are just two fantastic viewing spots, but of course there are plenty more in the Lake District. The Pepperpot is also just a 10-minute walk from our Silverdale park.

Plenty of Excitement

While taking a pleasant stroll may seem like a great idea, your family may be more thrill-seekers than bird-watchers. However, don’t worry, as the areas surrounding our parks have plenty of exciting activities for the whole family to get involved in. They may even be so worn out, they sleep during the car journey home!

The Lakeland Wildlife Oasis is extremely nearby; in fact, it’s just a 15-minute drive from our Silverdale location, which is an exciting and educational place to visit. The kids can get up close with everything from bats to meerkats, and can even become a zookeeper for the day. Other great days out nearby include the Lakes Aquarium in Ulverston and Crafty Monkeys in Penrith. You can see a whole load more here.

If you want a serious thrill for the day, Go Ape Grizedale is just under an hour’s drive, and the wonderfulTreetop Trek is just over 30 minutes away. Prepare for the adventure!

They have everything you need. Our holiday homes are the perfect accommodation for you retreat to after a wild adventure but also to stay in, relax, play some board games and get competitive.
