Leisure Facilities Investment
Holgate’s flagship holiday park Silverdale located on the Lancashire Cumbria border is gearing up to welcome a brand new addition to their leisure facilities.
In late 2014 SLDC gave the thumbs up to the creation of an additional 400 square metres of leisure provision at the Silverdale holiday park.
The ambitious £1 million development, which is now nearing completion, will see the creation of an additional three full time jobs and a further three part-time jobs, bringing the total number of staff employed across Holgates six parks to 120.
Included in the new facilities is a cutting edge Highway 66 mini six lane 15m long bowling alley created by world leading manufacturer QubicaAMF.
This mini bowling theme is the first of its kind in the UK to incorporate BES X scoring technology the world’s only Bowler Entertainment System, providing users with the latest innovations in interactivity and scoring.
The software allows you to choose your games from a range of innovative and easy to play games, including ‘Monster Factory’ and ‘Bowling Hood’, you can see an array of stats, including your ball speed and overall game stats, you can take selfies, upload them and watch them come to life in a series of crazy animations called YouToons, you connect directly with Facebook to let your friends know how you are doing, and the system even lets you take part in lane chatter allowing you to text between lanes. The system also allows you to create your own bespoke birthday party experience, allowing bowlers to choose from a number of themed birthday parties, all featuring dedicated graphic environments and games to best suit their celebration needs.
Over the last few months the bowling lanes, Pinspotters and ancillary equipment have been manufactured in QubicaAMF’s own factory in Richmond, Virginia, USA and the software and hardware systems have been specially created and built in their facility in Bologna, Italy. Now they are enroute to their new Silverdale home. The equipment is due to arrive in the UK in early March, and will be installed by a team of three engineers over a period of 10 days. The Holgate’s Silverdale staff will then undergo an intensive training schedule before the bowling alley is unveiled.
Michael Holgate, owner of the Silverdale Park, said: "Every year we work hard to improve the guest experience across our parks. We are thrilled to be working with QubicaAMF the world’s leading manufacturer of bowling alley systems and believe this new system will provide a whole new entertainment experience for both our onsite guests and local residents alike. Not only that this investment will also see the creation of six new jobs and further continue to ensure that this multi-award winning site maintains its place as one of the top sites in the UK.’’
John Emmett – We are thrilled to be working with Michael and his team at Silverdale on this very exciting new venture and addition to what is already a superb park! Their vision of quality was clear from the outset of what they wanted to achieve in the new entertainment complex and we believe our 6 lane HW66 System with BES X scoring will be a perfect fit for them. Everyone at QubicaAMF would like to wish Michael and his team all the very best with this new venture and wish them every success going forward.
